The problem with these spin-off forums is there's always a low ceiling that can be reached. You're going to have regular posters, but it's hard to bring in new people with a site like this. BOM was able to continually bring in new and active posters as a result of it being a major box office site. Just look what's happened to Filmgasm and even WOKJ to a certain extent.....they thrive for 4-5 months, but the activity of the forum starts to decrease after about a year. True. Which is why I think the forums CAN be economically viable for BOM. They don't need to spend vast amounts and by raising the ad content - without going overboard - they can keep it going, I'd say. |

Those other sites thought that BOM would die soon, it lasted longer then them really to a point.

Day after day I realize how much I lost at BOM. I'm not sure if I can still do all of those. I'll wait first. Maybe BOM still has a life.

I have started to rebuild, but will take a few weeks of non stop posting to get it done. So many charts and lists losts. Don't know if I will bring them all back. |

No offense guys but the whining about your content being gone has to stop (just for the simple fact that complaining won't bring it back). If you don't want to rebuild, then don't. Times change and blame IMDB if anyone for it being gone. But BOM will continue as long as the dedicated ones decide to continue, we just need a place to go. That's why I am saying Shawn should STRONGLY consider branching off on his own.

It sucks the hours of work is gone but I've been there and being sad and mad won't bring it back if it is gone for good. We can make it again, it may not be the same but its at least something. |

I guess the decision has been made for us. Anyway, Shawn, you should figure out how to create and own your own forum. You will get a lot of hits, and it is better for you to get the hits than some random free forum company.
