Well, this was the only lasting thread I ever created in my *gasp* 7+ years at BOM.
So post all PIXAR-related news here people!

For his accomplishments up to the year 2010, yes, Lasseter does deserve a star.

Just a quick post to say hi man I miss all the Pixar related threads of all, vaporized away just like that. Many of friends and foes are nowhere to be found again.

Cars 2 looked really nice. Perhaps Pixar's most visually stunning effort to date. I'll happily write off the rest.

All the international settings looked great, but is it just me, or did Radiator Springs look kind of like an afterthought? I could've sworn there was more detail on the roads and the backgrounds in the original Cars.

Was thinking of starting this but i didn't want to take your mojo (Ha!), D-Loon. I don't even remember Cars 2 being visually stunning like I did with other movies like Up. Maybe I was too blinded by the terrible story to notice.

The problem is the movie never slows down enough so that you can take in all of the neat visuals. That's part of what made Pixar's past output so great.

I greatly enjoyed the visuals in the "UK" part of the film. Amazing.

Yes, UK was what stood out to me the most. But I still never got the sense of awe I got with films like Wall-E and Finding Nemo.

Lasseter briefly mentioned at the end of an interview with Movieweb that they were incorporating some technological advances they made with Cars 2 into Brave. It's not particularly revelatory, though.

Yeah they always do that.
Well, can't wait to see The Muppets, one main reason is the Brave trailer.

I could've sworn there was more detail on the roads and the backgrounds in the original Cars. You're not the only one. The Radiator Springs scenes look like they were rushed. It didn't really feel like Radiator Springs, to be honest. It pretty much sums up the whole film.
