Well, I won't beat around the bush here. This poll asks a more direct question than the one I set up earlier, and I'd like to see how all of you are really feeling.
It has been suggested by a few that this Refugee board should integrate with either World of KJ or Filmgasm's existing forums.
It has also been suggested that we set up shop at Box Office Theory and create a new, permanent community based on the one we had/have at Mojo and this Refugees board.
I haven't seen it, but I'm sure its also been suggested that this board just stay as is: a back-up with limited customization and no tie-in to any other site.
What I want to know is how you all feel and where you all stand. I'm weighing a LOT of options right now and have been in contact with a number of people regarding the future of the Refugees.
Would you rather assimilate into an existing community, or keep things basically as they have been and just plant a flag in new territory and grow from there on our own?

And for the record, I have nothing but respect for Eagle (KJ) and harry (Filmgasm). Whatever happens, I don't want any bad blood to develop out of any perceived competition. People will commune where they choose to commune, and I think we all agree with that. Co-existence is possible as far as I am concerned.

Go on our own in a new site. I don't like Proboards, and setting up a new permanent home with BoT ensures there's a way for new members to find the site while keeping the old community alive. Because I think this community will stick together whether we stay on this site or branch out on our own.
I am against merging with World of KJ. I don't like numerous of people there. As for Filmgasm, it's a nice site and I'm sure Harry would love the traffic, but I don't like the idea of a healthy community merging with a barely alive one. If anything, they should merge with us.

Shawn, this forum was your idea, and without it, we'd all be scattered right now. The most logical thing to do is link it to your other baby, which is BOT.
I'm at the point now where it would be hard to integrate into another existing forum because those people already have their own history. We all have a history tied to BOM and what better place to go to than one spun off BOM where we had great memories of the place rather than places that were started because of a hatred for BOM.

I think we need a site with regular articles, charts, what have you. Make it a true collaborations, with the kinds of charts we had in the BOM forums being posted on the main pages of the site, created by multiple users, and letting a true community evolve in the forums section.
Not easy, I know, but...well, that's what I'd like.

Why the hell would we "integrate" with FG or WOKJ? That's pretty annoying how the posters there are circling this board like vultures trying to recruit people.
This should be the official forum of BOT.

Definitely lets attach it to BOT. I've been visting BOM since 2004 and have really enjoyed reading you guys perspective and opinions over the years. Although I have never posted much, I have always been under the impression its a pretty tight "community," and it would be cool to keep it that way.

I don't know why there seems to be a vendetta against Filmgasm. No offense to this site, but it looks worse than BOM's outdated forum. Starting a good forum takes time and money. If Shawn is willing to put forth those things, great. But Filmgasm is already set up and has some great people behind it. If everyone from here joined Filmgasm it'd be EXACTLY like this place, only nicer looking and already established. Start up all your box office archives, charts, and games. Maybe it can even be worked out to put on the blog portion of the site.

I have nothing against Filmgasm, but it simply doesn't have the connection to BOM that this forum and BOT do. It wouldn't be the same. |

At first I was supporting a move to Filmgasm, but the idea of the forums finding a home with a legitimate BO that releases weekly articles is an awesome thing.
It just makes it feel more complete.

Stay here and integrate with BOT. Nothing against FG, but it's nearly dead. I don't think we should basically revive another community by integrating with them.
