The second trailer is mindblowing and it's getting great reception. Holmes looks boring on the other hand. Make no mistake it will open higher than MI4,but won't destroy it. I believe that GP could be a leggy film that hits 200m.

That would be amazing, but umprobable. MI4 also has Tintin to battle with. Out

I'm going to say it'll miss it, but I do agree, it looks good. $185 million.

no way, this series isn't even close to as relevant as it used to be
will be a good ride if it hits 150M, let alone 200M so I'm out

Ethan Hunt is not an iconic character and this isn't an iconic franchise. This isn't Bourne,Bond or Die Hard. The last one came out 5 years ago and most people didn't care, and with Tom Cruise's career at an even lower point since then, why would this see a 25 percent admissions increase from the last one. There's no logic in predicting 200+.

I am really looking forward to this one. But I don't see this making $200m, though I won't mind if I am wrong. $150m will be good achievement for this. But the buzz is building and most of the people whom I know have liked the trailer and looking forward to this one. So who knows.

Out
The movie looks good but I have it finishing somewhere between 150-170. Will probably do much better OS though.

you are setting yourself up for a big disappointment. young people don't care about MI. this will be lucky if it gets 100m. remember k&d? just saying...

This is way different from K&D.

Hmmm...it won't reach $200m but MI is not K&D..not even close.

This is way different from K&D. i was talking in terms of hype on BOM. i think that one had an over 200M club too

Lets forget about BOM and $200m club. Also will agree that Tom Cruise star power have faded but still MI is not even close to K&D

yeah, but look at what nikki on deadline said "young males have abandoned the multiplexes since August". isn't that the target audience? i say keep expectation in check

Haven't you learned guys that December releases are all about legs. If GP opens as high as MI3, 200m is in the bag with good WoM. I don't think that 50m OW is too much to ask for with the IMAX buzz. If WB could open the crappy GL over 50m, sure Paramount can do at least north 40s for MI4.

It pry won't open as high as MI3 in fact I could see TGWTDT winning December 21. What makes people think MI4 will have good WOM?

yeah, i don't think this will have the good wom you'll wish for. the screenwriters are crap, brad bird has no experience in live action and where the heck is jeremy renner? they are not promoting him at all.
TGWTDT looks far more appealing. and Tinker... will be the true spy movie of the holidays

I even think M:I-GP will open north of 60 M. Yes, 60 M+.
