Why is TGWTDT being predicted so high? Is it because of Craig he wait have some highly acclaimed movies, but his high grossing movies can be attributed to Bond. While MI4 is an established franchise opening in the leggy season, full blown IMAX and Cruise which is re-starting his box office draw with this movie.

It's based on a popular book and MI is a franchise that peaked over a decade ago, Tom Cruise hasn't made a comeback yet and honestly an action movie like this doesn't work around Christmas maybe August but not Christ

Sucker Punch was in IMAX Great trailer response. The Change Up got a great response Awesome cast. Then why couldn't TC get K&D to 100 Here are reasons it will dissapoint Series has already been hit by franchise fatigue Action films don't do well at Christmas 5 year absence Fading Starpower of Tom Cruise Crowded Marketplace

IAL, SH, FOTR, TTT, ROTK, Avatar, KK were action films and did fine in December. He might be fading but look at his coming slate, looks like hits to me. Crowded marketplace look at 09 you had TBS, AC, SH and Avatar.

the only reason i think this will disappoint at the BO:
QUALITY. i just don't think it will be that good. just a hunch..
movies of this magnitude with big promo budget only fail when they are not that good. so nothing else matters, not the star power, just good scripting and directing. i'm rooting for brad bird, though.

Robert Downey Jr. was almost dead. -The Holiday season is very welcoming to films despite a crowded marketplace. Despite AVATAR making unheard of a gross, SH and AATC ll both made 200 M plus.

Crowded marketplace look at 09 you had TBS, AC, SH and Avatar. Those were sci-fi fantasy not straight action. All those films above targeted different demos not the same one. You suck at predicting anyway.

Here are reasons it will dissapoint Series has already been hit by franchise fatigue Action films don't do well at Christmas 5 year absence Fading Starpower of Tom Cruise Crowded Marketplace -What's fatiguing about it? third film made far less then previous 2 -Action films do well at Christmas. Not straight action -If it's hit by "franchise fatigue" then a 5-year absence is good. No it's not, people lose interest -Fading power? Robert Downey Jr. was almost dead. But he didn't return to a franchise past it's prime -The Holiday season is very welcoming to films despite a crowded marketplace. Despite AVATAR making unheard of a gross, SH and AATC ll both made 200 M plus. They had much stronger selling points then this and didn't directly compete against one another.

Sherlock Holmes was Sci-Fi did I miss it when the alien invaded Earth or Watson shot his ray gun. What about KK I miss the part of the giant asteroid.

It's the same thing. Not all period action adventures do well. So are fantasy-action, sci-fi action. That's nitpicking.

If it doesn't bomb at OW it all comes down to quality, that's why I have high hopes for this. Paramount didn't back off, sticked to the December release, so they must be very confident about this. The trailer got great reception, Cruise's incredible stunt is already a topic of discussion, Renner is very popular and girls also go nuts just to briefly see Holloway.

He must not know that Kal would of liked MI as he likes Tom Cruise. (He also loved Stallone btw. But hates Will Smith)

Okay now, this film is hard to predict for its OW as it has a strange OW. It could actually make less then 30M on its OW and still hit 150M.
