Essentially, what BOM did is like having a wife file divorce papers, empty the bank accounts, take the kids, leave, and never call back.
BOM broke up with us and without even giving us an explanation.

What a pile of crap. IMDB forums lick, I don't like the layout. I can't believe they would just shut it down like that without even a heads up. I am sure paying customers are totally PO'd.
I don't really see the benefit of shutting down the forums. Did IMDB think it wasn't getting enough traffic ? Did they want to make it a 1 stop shop like Facebook is trying to do. Amazon owns both of them, so someone there is calling the shots.
It couldn't be because the forum was something bad, because every forum is the same no matter which one you go to.
What a joke.

Its a combination of sci-fi/military drama/action. Forewarning: the budget was limited early on, so some of the visuals aren't going to be very impressive. But the stories make up for it, IMO. |

If you liked X-Files, or maybe Lost or old (good) Star Trek, you may enjoy BSG. Its a very character-driven sci-fi drama with plenty of action throughout...best way I can think to describe it, haha. |

I see it more like BOM being the old granny with terminal cancer who was just euthanized.
That forum was old, buggy, and from what I've heard could not be updated without breaking it (hence why it hadn't been updated since 2002). I'm guessing that is what happened to it, the folks at IMDB probably tried to update the forum to a newer version of phpBB and ended up breaking it. So instead of trying to fix it they threw up their hands, pulled the plug, and said fuck it.
