RT is at 50% and decreasing. Don't expect much in the way of box office anymore.

Eastwood has been making mediocre and overpraised movies for ages now, about time the reviews started calling him out on it.

So much for an oscar contender... Much to my dismay, I still think Leo could be in the race.

Most of these films are bad, but that doesn't stop them making decent money. $30M, $35M total? Come on.

Between Hereafter, Invictus, and other recent films, Clint Eastwood has been kind of out of it. I really liked Changeling, though, but Gran Torino was overrated to me. I expect this film to do little to change his streak, especially with the early reviews.

He's been out of it for a while. Last movie of his I liked was Letters from Iwo Jima. Yet every year he consistently fools me into thinking he's done something great. Until I see it, that is.

Gran Torino - A Invictus - B- Hereafter - A+
I don't feel he has been off, I've really enjoyed his last 3 outings.

WB's marketing department might be getting frustrated with the material they are given to sell, Eastwood's last two outings fell to me like difficult films to market.
Also can anyone confirm if the budget is actually 35m?

I agree, it must be hard to Market blandness. This looks and soundslike a total bore. At least Hereafter was funny at certain points.

Yeah, his films are extremely boring. Allthough MDB and GT were lacking overdriven action, its still fantastic movies with great acting and enough soul to Warm up my cold hart.. 13/51

I almost gave up on Eastwood after the crap Flag of our Fathers, but he luckily redeemed himself with Letters from Iwo Jima.
If this opens to 2000 theaters, I'm predicting a decent 5250 PTA so a 10.5M OW.

I just don't think Eastwood would go as far as he would need to in really pinning this historical figure down. J. Edgar was the closest to a tyrant America has ever seen; he WAS the boogeyman in the shadows, the dark side of the government. He was Big Brother with a grudge. You either go all the way in showing just how terrifying this man's power was or don't even bother.
And the reviews seem to indicate that he didn't go far enough, and thus we have a boring film of the American equivalent of Goebbels.
