''The good news--95 percent of the revenues for Harold & Kumar came from 3D screens, bucking the recent downturn in 3D attendance.'' Yea, but that's misleading. There were no 2D screens anywhere near me. So how much choice did the audience really have?

They have a choice. Uh, well I guess they can choose not to watch the movie? But amongst people that wanted to see the film, there wasn't a choice, since only a very small handful of screens ran this one in non-3D

Well If they have money to watch a 3D film like this, I suppose they have money to buy 3D blockbusters too.

Because in my country and I suppose in other countries overseas, there's always a 2D option in a theater.

Puss is a beast. Very happy cause he`s an awesome character and Banderas deserves more love.

Because in my country and I suppose in other countries overseas, there's always a 2D option in a theater. It varies based on the film. If it's something that's going to make a lot of money and the multiplex is running it on multiple screens like Puss in Boots, Shrek, Captain America etc. most theaters will run at least one screen in 2D. The pattern for big releases lately has been 1 3D screen, 1 2D screen, and one screen that splits 2D and 3D. For movies that are going to do less business like H&K, Final Destination, Shark Night, most theaters will only run it on one screen, and that screen will be 3D.

Well If they have money to watch a 3D film like this, I suppose they have money to buy 3D blockbusters too. That, or they could have waited for a movie that was actually worth seeing in 3D. (i.e. this)

solid for TH and H&K

So, time to expect a sequel to PIB right? Hope so. I liked it better than half the Shrek films.

That 3% drop is impressive. I can't recall, was the 2nd weekend for the original Shrek a holiday weekend? I'm pretty sure Shrek pulled the ultra rare feat of increasing for its 2nd weekend.

Memorial Holiday if I'm not mistaken.

Extremely strong hold for Puss but that's expected due to the snowstorms in the Northeast, but nonetheless impressive. Expected numbers for Tower Heist & H&K. Meh for the others.

PiB is pretty good. I was going to predict $31M for its second weekend, but I never posted up that prediction. But, I was thinking it would get that and not because of WOM but because of the storm, Halloween weekend, and lack of awareness of the film being pushed back one week. While a 3% drop is incredible, I do think a lot of that had to do with the fact not as many people were aware it was coming out. So, I don't think we can tell its legs until next weekend.
