Can't wait for this. All the recent news for this has been really good. Scott is keeping it close to the original in some aspects. It will be in the top 3 best Summer movies for sure.

Depends on what it ends up being rated, though I guess it'll be PG13. Can't wait to see it. Charlize Theron + Michael Fassbender + Guy Pearce + Idris Elba = Absolutley awesome cast.

Can't see this going under 65M OW and a 190M finish. Inception only made 62 on OW. It'd be more surprising if it made more then that. You seem to set yourself up for dissapointment constantly. |

Original movie vs franchise. Hopefully they will remind of Alien and Aliens in the marketing. Also will have 3D so 65M w.out 3D is 53M OW so less than Inception. Also will have major nostalgia. |

You are aware that no Alien movie has made more then 250 million for inflation and the franchise has been damaged by AVP. Nostalgia doesn't work for this stuff Scream 4 proved it. It only works on kids stuff. Also Aliens itself doesn't even hit 200 for inflation, Alien 3 isn't even at 100. Your'e only setting yourself up for dissapointment when you say a 65 OW is minimal. It could happen but most likely no. |

Yeah, Alien is the kind of franchise that has permeated the public awareness, thanks to its iconic monster, but it's not really a huge franchise...
And this is a quasi-prequel. It'll definitely behave far more like an original film than part of a big franchise.

Look at IJ4, ST09 and TPM and TS4, I would say nostalgia worked for these movies. Prometheus will be the first of these coming out, then you got Total Recall, AP4 (to a smaller extent) and Mad Max just to name a few.

All of those were already very big, if not outright gigantic. You can't compare Alien to friggin' Indiana Jones, dude! And I expect Total Recall to be a flop and I'm not too optimistic about Mad Max either. No idea what AP4 is. |

IJ was always a much bigger franchise and didn't return when the franchise hit a low, ST09 was more of a reboot then a prequel and that also was in a much better position. TPM ditto IJ4, wtf is TS4 and AP4. Neo your'e good at gathering as your'e terrible at making making predictions. You overestimate everything, under predict something for once. |
