For whatever its worth, if worse comes to worse and the BOM forums are down much longer and/or don't come back at all (I have no reason to suspect that at the moment, though) then I'll be putting a little more into making this board look better. Likewise, I'll probably bring on a few mods to help maintain things if/when we start getting more users.
But again, I'm not sure it will be necessary. For now, my priorities are mostly focused on Box Office Theory. So if I'm not on here, check over there first (I may post an update on Mojo there if and when I get one).

It's just annoying, I've always known the admins don't really give a shit about the forums, but they know that there are dozens if not hundreds of regular/semi-regular posters that do care, so why they can't provide an update is beyond me. We're a big part of the reason that website gets so many hits.

To be fair, the forums generate a very small minority of BOM's traffic...and even less in terms of revenue.
That said, I do think they should offer an update/explanation as to what's going on. Amazon is really dropping the ball right now.
But everyone please keep this in mind: Ray is doing two jobs by himself right now. Brandon is no longer part of Mojo, and hasn't been for about a month.

Not sure, but I get the feeling a lot of changes are coming to Mojo (possibly for the better?).
In the mean time, everyone please check the Chit-Chat forum. I never planned on this forum lasting for more than a few days, but I'll "let the market decide" as it were. As long as folks want to post here, I'll do my best to appoint enough moderators to ensure that it runs smoothly.

Brandon, to the best of my knowledge, started Mojo from scratch. He built quite the box office empire. I'm sad to hear that he is gone. I hope Mojo gets back up soon. I miss it dearly.

Yeah, this would be a great time to upgrade to a whole new forum software, but like I've said it's been established that the forums are not a priority at BOM. Ray himself has acknowledged that the forum is extremely outdated but that they don't have any plans in the near future to fix/update it.

last I/we asked him he said there won't be any major changes til 2012.

I certainly won't stop anyone from making relevant threads or anything like that, but my personal opinion is to wait a few more days before putting too much effort in transferring archives, threads, data, etc.
I say that because I still have some hope that the forums will be back up. The main page and dailies are active again, all that remains is the Derby, the forums, and account logins. It makes sense that those would be the last to get fixed (especially the forums and Derby).
I'd say let's take it day-by-day, and hopefully we'll have an update on everything by Friday or Saturday.

I think it will take some time before anything in the acounting department (Forums, Derby & Acounts) to get fixed.
Could be as long as a month.

I'll also note that if this board does need to become permanent, I don't want it looking like this (feels uneasy on the eyes).
If anyone has suggestions for skins, link them and I'll compile a list and eventually maybe hold a forum-wide vote on what skin gets used.
