"Monnster"?
I wouldn't quite call it a monster number or drop...

That drop for Puss in Boots is normal, right? It's a family film.

"Monnster"? I wouldn't quite call it a monster number or drop... Sunday: 4.4 Monday: 2.3 48.8% drop. That's quite good. Saw II had a 47% drop on Halloween, so it is a very apropos drop for a horror film on Halloween.

Yeah it's a nice drop, I just think "monster" would have been more like -30%. Still headed towards $100m though.

So, will 100M happen or not? 100 is locked. It'll be at a minimum of 86 mill by Thursday. It should drop by about 55% this weekend giving it about 8 mill. That's 96 mill. It should end with 105-110.

Jaws is listed as a horror and to me it is pretty horrific, so that would easily be the highest:

So... another PA movie, and it could be the biggest horror franchise.

After falling to second place over the weekend, Paramount's Paranormal Activity 3 returned to first place on Monday. The low-budget horror film was obviously helped in a big way by the Halloween holiday, as the film fell just 43 percent from Sunday. Paranormal Activity 3 has grossed $83.45 million through eleven days, which places the film an impressive 25 percent ahead of the pace of last year's Paranormal Activity 2. However, with Halloween now behind us Paranormal Activity 3 is extremely likely to lose major momentum throughout the rest of the week.
Fellow Paramount release Puss in Boots took second place with $2.11 million. The computer animated Shrek spin-off from DreamWorks Animation was down 80 percent from Sunday. That represented the day's largest daily decline among wide releases, which showcases just how heavily the film is skewing towards families. Puss in Boots is performing softer than expected with a four-day start of $36.19 million, but the film will have a strong chance of holding up very well this coming weekend. The film is currently running 9.5 percent behind the pace of 2007's Bee Movie.
Fox's In Time placed in third with $1.07 million. The sci-fi film starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried fell 65 percent from Sunday. In Time has grossed $13.12 million in four days, which is on the very low end of pre-release expectations. The film continues to run 14 percent behind the pace of this year's Red Riding Hood.
The Rum Diary continued to struggle on Monday as it claimed fourth with $0.54 million. The Johnny Depp vehicle from FilmDistrict fell a solid 61 percent from Sunday, but the film will need to string together a number of strong daily holds if it is to have any chance of making up for its disappointing start. The four-day total for The Rum Diary stands at just $5.68 million.

The main thing for me is seeing how Puss in Boots rebounds; it does have the next two weeks to itself but, again, so did Kung Fu Panda 2.

great hold for PA3 but with Halloween over it is going to drop like a rock now.
Poor Real Steel. It got murdered this weekend. Too bad they gave it such a crappy release date

I don't think it will drop like a rock. Even if it falls 60% every week, it will still cruise past 100.

Puss held slightly better than comparable titles, not sure if Halloween helped or hurt it. I'm leaning towards hurt it because many of them would be out knocking on doors.
