Well I managed to make it here after falling through pits, fire, and crossing the great Atlantic! I thought I would never see you guys again.

I personally think of re-booting some of my own films and completing some unfinished projects for a new CAYOM.

A restart would be best for me, I think. Without having to worry about old franchises, etc. I'd have a fresh new start and would probably be motivated to at least do two or three films a year.

Warning you all now, if CAYOM does get rebooted I will stop at nothing to win a Best Actress Oscar for Elizabeth Gillies. She's like Molly Darby only much much much much MUCH hotter and awesomer and realer. At least this movie still lives: cayom.wikia.com/wiki/Dance_The_Night_Away

I am not feeling CAYOM really anymore. I will probably just do my Neighbourhood series, Bartimaeus series, and a few other films I might want to write or reboot. I don't think I will start any new franchises. The Chronicles of Novara won't get rebooted or finished. My question to you guys is. Should I reboot Barbarians, Apocalypse, Salvation, and The Chrysalids?

Look it as a way to be able to do films you couldn't do beforehand because other people held the franchise rights. Look it as simply a new beginning. (Also I call the Star Wars franchise!)

Year 1 is going to be huge for me. I have Apocalypse opening during the summer and Bartimaeus and the Amulet of Samarkand opening in November or December. Plus a Christmas themed Neighbourhood opening on Thanksgiving weekend. Not to mention possible break out films opening during March and April.

First off, Star Wars kinda shoulda stay off-limits. Second, if it isn't, since I had the rights to it in CAYOM at the end, I should get first dibs on it. If you want to work something out WB, I am open to an arrangement since the Star Wars franchise is huge. There are certain aspects of the Expanded Universe that I would want to claim, either because I did films based on them in the original CAYOM, or because I have a huge interest in them.

A shame you didn't get the chance to read Celluloid Heroes before BOM imploded, I'd have been interested to see your take on it (since it featured both you and Empowered as minor supporting characters).

Damn, I did miss that didn't I? I really hope they put the archives back up... It was a year 46 film, so you just missed it too. Sadder thing is that since the film was so tied up in the original CAYOM's lore and mythology, it can't be released here anytime soon (since enough CAYOM 2.0 lore has to be built up for a revised version to incorporate elements of it via players or fictional characters/films).

Did anyone save it or archive it at all? Maybe in an e-mail? Did you have it saved to Word? I have about 90% of all my films saved to Word, so it isn't lost. Impact that's kinda funny. I won BP in both my first and last years in the game.

Is there a timeframe for when the new BOT forum is up and running?
I ask just because there's a good chance I won't be around this weekend.

I'd prefer to get our own CAYOM site... if this gets huge it'll be annoying to hope there's a new CAYOM post and just see another dull "forum game" thread.

As for CAYOM itself, I'd prefer a complete restart... I want a chance to get a few solid films/franchises installed without worrying about what was made in Year 27 etc.

As for CAYOM itself, I'd prefer a complete restart... I want a chance to get a few solid films/franchises installed without worrying about what was made in Year 27 etc. On the subject of franchises, one thing that needs to be settled is pre-existing franchises, since they offer a lot of space for CAYOM films. I think the general rule should be that the person who last had possession of the franchise in the original CAYOM should have the first dibs to it in CAYOM 2.0, for equity's sake. This wouldn't be an absolute rule though. For example, I had the rights to Star Wars as of the BOM meltdown but I am also willing to contract out certain elements of the franchise (since it covers so much ground) to players who are interested (like WB who earlier said he wanted in). Also, when it comes to a franchise like "Bond," if it stays around again, I think that's the kind of franchise that should get passed around between players, like someone makes 3-4 Bond films and then it moves on to a new player who can put his own style and own Bond actor into play. Just some thoughts I had.
