I've set up a PayPal account to receive donations toward the new message board at BOT.
Keep in mind, the majority of the costs are already accounted for and taken care of by myself and an anonymous donator (who is only anonymous right now because I'm not sure if he/she wants to be named yet!).
Whatever you can contribute would be greatly appreciated!
Worth noting is that, if we go with the platform we're planning on, the new forums will have a level of customization BOM's forums could only dream of. What's more, we *should* own the data outright, and with it being hosted on my site's server, it won't be bombarded with ads (though there may be one or two in the future, but nothing overly-intrusive).
Furthermore, if you donate toward the site before we reach our target goal, if and when there are any ads on the forum you will automatically have your forum profile set up to be ad-free for at least one year.
If you can donate anything...$1, $5, $10, $20...whatever, please PM me and I'll send you the details.

Also guys, if you use the "available funds" on your PayPal, it will instantly go through. Using an eCheck takes 3-5 business days usually. Just a heads up!

when we get the new forum up dude I suggest you rename the forum sections and derby
just to avoid any possible litigation (I know it sounds crazy but I've heard of internet forum lawsuits) to put your own stamp on them

One quick note: I failed to mention that if you have a debit card, you can simply use that to send a donation through PayPal to the email I listed above (lifeattwentyfour@gmail.com). Doing it that way saves you the hassle of having to transfer funds from your bank into your PayPal account (which takes several days before its available for you to then send over as a donation).[/size]

^Was just about to update that!
There are two goals, one the minimum (~$250) and the other the ideal goal (~$375).
So far, we have almost $200 in confirmed donations (including what I'm putting in) ...AWESOME, guys! We're over halfway toward the ideal goal already.
For anyone wondering, this covers everything from the forum license to the forum package, to additionalhosting space on top of what I'm already putting into BOT, to an option for site backup and additional security.
This will not be a free phpBB forum...the content will be owned outright and bandwidth should not ever be a concern unless we get 1 million users or something, so if ever the board needed to be transferred across sites...it can be. (The same cannot be said for most free boards, certainly not in an easy way.)

Though, in the case of donations that big or larger, there could be extra perks at some point once the forum/site has grown a little bit. But only do what you can. |

Do you plan on adding any additional features to the forum down the road such as Live Chat or maybe even an Aracade room? Arcade is dumb, we don't need that on the forums because it has nothing to do with box office. Live Chat doesn't go used very much on forums I've been on in the past. |
