Perhaps I'm speaking too soon, as we don't clearly know the outcome of this situation, but I don't feel like I'm being overdramatic when I say that BOM just royally screwed many of its most loyal followers over. Gone goes 10 years of forum and derby records. Even if they come back- I really doubt it at this point- that they do this without any word or acknowledgement that indicates they care about informing its patrons is insulting. I really wish I knew who to blame so I could shake my fist at them.
Shawn, it's time to establish a BOT forum. With Mojo support it could instantly be one of the biggest box office discussion board on the internet. Upset the established order. Introduce a little anarchy.

I doubt Ray is to blame, maybe he asked for help getting the forums back up and IMDb just shut him down, who knows.
All I know is they are going to lose many premier pass users.

Why hasn't he said anything, though? Is he under a gag order?

So far I have assumed he is under a gag order, it looks like Mojo has lost any form of independence and self control. With Gray gone IMDb is able to move in without protest and take shortcuts.

Will the BOM Forums ever come back?

Hey all... just popping in ... no way i'll ever be using IMDB... missing the BOM forums. They were the BOMB ok seriously, there was a lot of good data stored in those forums including research into various bits of information. especially some of the work on attendance etc. I mean yeah ok there was plenty of crud in the forums too but some of that info really should have been compiled elsewhere - hoping some of us did that. SIDE NOTE - BOM Fantasy Box Players - unless the BOM Boards return, I have lost investments going back to the 18th October as I hadn't updated prior to the crash I will over the weekend in the games section get the game up and running from here temporarily - though it might die off with this collapse. Aussie box office fans - I'm going to put some serious effort into bringing Box Office Down Under back up to scratch and operational this weekend coming. I might start up a aussie box office thread discussion in the derby here temporarily or if i get adventurous maybe more .... - Jajang

I really don't understand this. Can somebody please explain. Why have the BOM forums gone? I understand that IMDB owns BOM and IMDB is owned by Amazon, but why remove a popular forum? What happened to all the old posts? Who has access to that? Can we ask to keep that information?

I believe the BOM forums have probably and completely crashed or something (I hear hacked), which means that it's probably all lost. If this is the case, then I doubt IMDB is going to waste any resources on a part of a site that is apparently not getting enough people to matter.

All my movie reviews and reactions in GTM... that is sad too. I feel bad for the user who had like 500 or something reviews in the Crowd Reaction thread. What was his name?

I feel bad for the user who had like 500 or something reviews in the Crowd Reaction thread. What was his name? Was it Andy Stitzer? Yeah, Andy. I often found myself disagreeing with his reviews, but thy were very well-written and he obviously put a lot of thought and effort into them and that was to be appreciated. There's so much stuff on mojo that should have been preserved for eternity. My God, the 500 page-long TDKR thread! The Transformers - Potter war! Everything Kal had ever posted! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking it was some corporate thing - make everything look the same for the hell of it. That will be a real shame if all is lost. There was so much stuff on there - it was a large part of people's lives.

So it's pretty much a given that everything's been lost? 9 years of discussion now gone?
