What's up guys? How's everyone doing? The only thing making the forums gone a bit easier is this place...man,all the threads,polls,reviews...poof...gone. I'm really, really glad to read all of you again. No mater where the community is going to continue,i'll be on the bandwagon as soon as it's decided. You can't kill a fellowship just like that...i thought Sauron taught IMDB that.Guess not!

I feel so bad for Impact, over 100k or however many posts he had. That's the most I've ever seen for any forum.

so you can't access any proboard sites? Not at work. Anything labeled as a Message Board or Forum, the Websense program they use blocks the site. It blocks anything with games, sports, boards, etc, etc. It's like they want us to just work or something.

I was one of the first members of Box Office Mojo forums. I joined on June 6th 2002. I, along with lilmac, became a posting machine. I was the second poster to hit 1000 posts after lilmac. Mojo forums was a haven for me. I actually found a place to talk about my obsessive love for movies with others like me. Maverick, BKB, Mickeymoose, Libs, Lady Eowynn, lilmac, wildfire and many others were the names of repute as I spent hours on the site. I loved it beyond words.
It was far from perfect as some of the admins there seemed to rule with an iron fist and this caused me to leave for 2 years during the exodus of 04. I came back in 06 after the Kal Superman fiasco and I never left after that.
I had more than 80,000 posts when it got shut down. And I know, just like the rest of you do, that it was free. I didn't have to pay if i didn't want to. But here's the thing. I put a lot of myself into that site. As you all know, I had the summer game, i wrote a myriad of reviews and I tried to help out as much i could, even though I hadn't been a mod since 04.
Losing the mojo forums really pisses me off. You're talking about a quarter of my life posting there. And then, without warning or even a chance for us to recover some of our posts, they shut the fucking place down like religious loonies shut down dancing in Footloose.
I understand that it's their site and they can do what they want when they want. But they could of given us a warning. They could of told us a week ahead of time and let us go out knowing that it would be the last day. But instead, like the Baltimore Colts did, they packed up their moving vans in the middle of the night and left town. This pisses me off and it never should of happened.
Whoever did this, whoever approved it, has no class, no couth, very little business acumen and I hope they are proud of themselves.
I really hope this community survives and then then thrives into what we had at Mojo. It was a good community.
I'll get over my anger and my melancholy state, but it might be a while.
I'm glad those of you that are here, decided to come. Here's to new beginnings.
RIP MOJO. Cheers to Mojorefugees.

Whoever did this, whoever approved it, has no class, no couth, very little business acumen and I hope they are proud of themselves. Sadly, whoever did it won't think twice. Something similar, there was a radio show I listened to online (it aired in Portland, OR) that had been on for years and one day their website was gone to just the radio station's generic page and found out through twitter/Facebook that the show had been cancelled. No goodbyes, no last show, just gone. Pissed off plenty of fans but that was that and the people on the show (there were 3-4) parted ways and moved on. It was strictly a business decision because it was cheaper just to have some mouthpiece introducing a song.

nice anology ShawnMR I still cant believe that they shut down the forum without any kind of warning... BOM had lots of problems with hackers and spamming in the past. The idea BOM wanted to kill those forums is silly. Somebody attacked again and won this time. So you can't blaim BOM or IMDB IMHO.
